The story behind the design
Barranquitas rises in Puerto Rico’s Cordillera Central and is known as La Cuna de los Próceres. A small sun-and-compass emblem with the town-area coordinates 18.1848° N, 66.3101° W sits on the left chest; the full mountain-and-canyon illustration is centered on the back. The design honors the home of journalist and statesman Luis Muñoz Rivera and the town’s artisan tradition.
